The following information applies to all S.R.S. that
M.O.R.E. manufactures:
Why install a S.R.S. ? Because it allows the front suspension to travel in a much more natural action when the spring compresses. In stock form (shackles in front of the front axle housing) when the front tire comes in contact with an obstruction, the impact is partially transmitted back to the frame via the solid rear pivot point. Reversing the pivot point to a point in front of the axle allows the impact to be better absorbed by the spring and shackle. The result is a more natural suspension flow over the obstacle. At higher speeds, a smother ride and improved handling is noticeable, less wandering and darting are some of the advantages. All M.O.R.E. S.R.S. have a very important design feature built into the new front pivot brackets. They are designed to move the front axle forward from the stock location. When the shackle is reversed to behind the front axle, it will swing rearward and the tire will move slightly aft as the suspension compresses. Pushing the wheelbase forward will help keep the tire from contacting the fender during suspension compression. This is the only correct way to design a reversal system. With this in mind, the front drive shaft will have to have a longer travel slip-yoke installed (in most cases) by a professional* drive line shop. The bracketry is manufactured from .250" thick steel, cut with CNC high definition plasma, then the holes are punched in a fixture for accuracy. All pieces are precision bent to exact tolerances and assembled in our jigs, then M.I.G. welded. All hardware is grade 5. Complete instructions with several pictures are included. For the do-it-yourselfers, we offer our S.R.S. bare steel. None of the parts have been painted or zinc plated. This saves you money and allows you to customize your rig with any color you desire. For the budget minded, we also offer them in "kit" form. All of the pieces to build your own S.R.S. are included. If you are a welder/fabricator and can handle the assembly of the pivot brackets, weld them together by using your Jeep® frame as a jig. We've done all of the cutting, punching of holes and slots, bending and most importantly, geometry for correct axle placement. All hardware is included (no paint or plating) along with detailed instructions for assembly. All prices are in the chart below, after product descriptions and
pictures. |

1976-1986 Jeep® CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 vehicles**. Stock width (2") springs are required. The new front pivot brackets are fully welded, and ready to bolt into existing holes in your CJ frame. Spacer plates are provided for the purpose of different winch mounting possibilities, and/or if you choose to use our Frame Plates (FP100 or FP300). The shackle plates provided in this system are 3/8" thick steel. The mounting method for the shackle is unique with this M.O.R.E. system. You drill a hole in your frame then weld in a steel tube (see picture below). Polyurethane bushings insert into the tubes which support the shackle plates. The shackles hang from each side of the frame rail. This method of attachment keeps the drive shaft and caster angles as close to stock as possible and gives ample clearance for off road obstacles. This system will work with stock leaf springs and aftermarket "lift" springs, however, it will not provide any lift in itself. It will work with springs under the axle (stock set up) of if you have a spring over axle set up. Complete instructions with step by step instructions included. The stock pitman arm must be retained. |

1976-1986 Jeep® CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 vehicles**.
This system has all of the features as the 7686-1, however it comes with
wider tubes and bushings to insert in the frame so you can install the
wider Jeep® YJ Wrangler springs. Why, you ask? The Wrangler springs
typically have a softer spring rate than CJ's adding to flexibility and
ride quality. This system comes with the pivot brackets fully welded.
Complete with instructions. (Wider U-Bolt plates not provided).

1976-1986 Jeep® CJ-5, CJ-7, CJ-8 vehicles**.
This S.R.S. is our newest item. It uses the same fine pivot brackets as
all of the above systems use. (Please read all info for above systems)
However, we have added a feature to this system. "Buggy" Springs!
Yes, now you can have your cake and eat it too! M.O.R.E. has designed
a unique bracket that bolts on (no welding what-so-ever) behind the axle
on the frame, and the Buggy Spring bolts to the bracket. Several holes
are provided to adjust the Buggy Spring fore or aft to adjust shackle
angle. Why a Buggy Spring? It will allow for increased flexibility and
axle articulation. The Buggy Spring acts as a normal shackle mount in
everyday driving situations. When you "stuff" one tire in the
fender, and the other is reaching for the ground, the Buggy Spring will
pull-away from the frame, giving you as much as 2" more articulation!
This system will work with 2" or 2-1/2" wide leaf springs (CJ
or YJ), stock height or aftermarket lift (up to 4"). It will lift
the front of your Jeep® one inch (1"). Your stock shackles are
retained, however, if they have a welded in center brace that is set-up
for 2" wide springs, it will have to be removed. The Buggy Springs
that we use are 2-1/2" wide! Shackles not included ! The stock pitman
arm must be retained.

1987-1995 Jeep® YJ Wrangler vehicles with 6-cylinder
(4.0L-4.2L) engines. The front pivot brackets are welded in our jigs and
ready to bolt to your stock shackle mounts, the lower bumper mount hole
and additional holes that you must drill in your frame. The method of
shackle attachment is with our unique "Buggy" Spring, behind
the axle. Our new Buggy Springs have several holes punched in them for
adjustability (for setting shackle angle). A polyurethane liner is supplied
to insulate any noise that may occur between the Buggy Spring and frame.
Your stock shackles are retained. You must use your stock pitman arm.
This system will lift the front of your YJ one inch (1"). It will
work with stock or aftermarket "lift" springs, with springs
under or over the axle. We recommend our SlipLoc or DoubleJointed trac
bar with this system.

ANY engine. The front pivot brackets are welded in our jigs and ready
to bolt to your stock shackle mounts, the lower bumper mount hole and

must use your stock pitman arm. This system will lift the front of your
YJ one and a half inches (1.5"). It will work with stock or aftermarket

1987-1995 Jeep® YJ Wrangler vehicles with 4 cylinder
engines (2.5L).(Please read above info 8795-1 that applies to this kit)
The 4 cylinder equipped YJ's have a different motor mount location then
the 6 cylinder Jeeps do. The Buggy Springs will not bolt on the bottom
of the frame like on the 6 cylinder frames, so we provide you with a special
bracket that bolts on around the motor mounts and then the Buggy Spring
bolts to the bracket. This has another advantage, the Buggy Spring is
adjustable fore and aft on the bracket, so you can adjust the shackle
angle, depending on which leaf springs you use. It will work with or with
out a lift kit, springs under or over the axle. This system will lift
the front of your Jeep® one inch (1"). All brackets are fully
assembled, and ready to bolt on, no welding required! Your shackles are
retained. As with all of our YJ S.R.S., we recommend using our SlipLoc
or DoubleJointed trac bar.
